Golf’s biggest names are in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, this week for The Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass. With the 2021 Masters Tournament less than one month away, this may be the last time we see several of the PGA Tour’s top names until mid-April. Below, we highlight one prop bet for each of the favorites at the 2021 Players Championship.
Brooks Koepka, Matthew Wolff and Tiger Woods are the biggest stars not in attendance this week. Rory McIlroy defends his 2019 Players Championship title two years later after the 2020 tournament was called off following the conclusion of Round 1 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Rory McIlroy (+1600)
Our bet: First-round leader (+3300)
McIlroy is just +1600 to win this event but offers much better value to lead after 18 holes. He had a share of the first-round lead at Bay Hill last week but continued his weekend struggles en route to a T-10 finish.
Justin Thomas (+2000)
Our bet: Top American (+1200)
Fade Johnson (+750) and DeChambeau (+900) in backing Thomas as the first American offering better than a 10-1 payout. His third-place finish here in 2016 is the best career result of the three.
Xander Schauffele (+2200)

Much like our strategy with Johnson, we’re going for the safest cushion we can get for Morikawa while still getting an even-money return. He won the WGC-Workday Championship his last time out and has two other top-10 finishes in 2021.
Patrick Cantlay (+2200)

Cantlay’s returning to play after withdrawing from the Workday Championship due to illness. He’s fourth in the Golfweek rankings to lead a group including Morikawa (26), Thomas (11), Hovland (5) and Webb Simpson (7).

Webb Simpson (+2200)
Our bet: To win (+2200)
Simpson won this event and won twice more on Tour in 2020. He has two top-10 finishes in four events this year and comes in ranked third on Tour in bogey avoidance, T-9 in par 5 scoring average and fourth in driving accuracy.

1X Corp N.V. (also known as '1xBet') is a Russian online gambling company licensed by the Curaçao eGaming License. It was founded in 2007 and registered in Cyprus.In 2019 they experienced considerable growth, briefly sponsoring Chelsea FC and Liverpool FC before being ousted for their involvement in illicit activities.
Initially a Russian Casino, it expanded its online presence in 2014 by partnering with 'BookmakerPub'. Despite persistent regulatory violations, it maintains operations in Russia, Malta, Cyprus and Abuja.
Controversies[edit]
Following an investigation by The Sunday Times in 2019, their license was promptly rescinded by the UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) after revelations of involvement promoting a “pornhub casino”, bets on children's sports and advertising on illegal websites.[1]
1xbet Farsi
The company is prohibited from operating in the UK, however continue to sponsor FC Barcelona, Seria A, and the Confederation of African Football (CAF), among various other sports.[2]
As of March 2021, 1xBet has amassed over 382,000 search results on Google for the term '1xBet Scam'; retaining its reputation as one of the world's most controversial betting firms and featuring on Russia's payment processor blacklist.[3]
Criminal Investigation[edit]
In early 2020, awareness was raised of an on-going scam involving embezzlement and unlawful practice, highlighting attention through diplomatic channels. [4]
1xBet's headquarters and company roster remain largely unknown with a multitude of offshore companies, domain aliases and registrars intertwined to obfuscate operations.
In August 2020, the Directorate of the Investigative Committee for the Bryansk Region, released the names of the supposed creators of 1xBet. These are Sergey Karshkov, Roman Semiokhin and Dmitry Kazorin.[5]
The trio are suspected of organizing the online bookmaker 1xBet, and are defendants in a criminal case, with penalty of imprisonment.[6]
The UK has put them on the international wanted list - all three have Cypriot citizenship.[7]
Alleged Owners[edit]
Karshkov, an ex police major and head of the 'K' department of the Internal Affairs Directorate for the Bryansk region - was granted Cypriot citizenship in 2020 by obtaining a 'Golden Passport' through substantial investments in the country.

Alongside Russian billionaire Semiokhin and Kazorin, all three have fled to Cyprus to avoid prosecution.
