2021 Preakness Stakes contenders
As always, watch for the 2021 Kentucky Derby favorites to enter into Preakness contention as the major race season kicks off in May.
So far, contenders at the 2021 Kentucky Derby include Life is Good and Essential Quality, both with 8-1 odds.Other favorites include Concert Tour at 10-1, and Greatest Honour and Prevalance both at 16-1.

2020 Preakness rewind
In a surprise outcome, Swiss Skydiver became the sixth filly ever to win the Preakness Stakes by beating Kentucky Derby winner Authentic down the home stretch to a photo finish. Coming in third was Jesus' Team.
Swiss Skydiver paid $25.40 to win, $8.40 to place and $5.80 to show.
Authentic paid $3.60 to place and $3.20 to show.
Jesus' Team paid $12.20 to show.

• The Preakness is named after the horse who won the first stakes ever run in Pimlico when its doors first opened on May 27, 1873.
• The Preakness Stakes is sometimes dubbed 'The Run for the Black-Eyed Susans' because a blanket of Viking daisies, decorated to look like Black-eyed Susans, is traditionally placed around the winner's neck. Actual Black-eyed Susans -- the state flower of Maryland -- are not in season during the Preakness.
